Actually it made me even more confused than I was before, not that I am now.

Well the principle is simple

Be good, and good things will happen to you
Be bad, and... well, bad things will happen.

Though of course, life doesn't always work like this, and bad things happen to nice people and vice versa. Unfortunately. :misery:

Life is a funny thing like that. But generally it does work pretty darn well. Especially if you keep being good after the bad things happen. Has a nifty way of reversing the bad stuff somehow. Sometimes, anyway!

I need to go to sleep. I'm so tired I can hardly sit upright.

Yeh, life throws crap at everyone, it's how you deal with it that makes you who you are.

And...

It's a different system than your standard Karma. You get ONE vote, per person. You can't come back in any length of time and make it worse. You can change your vote, but you don't have more power just by waiting. And you could make alt accounts, but you need to have a certain number of posts to participate, so that would take forever and never be worth it. Plus if admins and mods found out, say goodbye to all your accounts. Bansville.
Sounds good to me. You're right though, can't be sure until it's been observed in action. :merry:

1- To be honest, I'd like the post counts to be reset back to 0. For new members joining, the people with post counts in the tens of thousands can be quite daunting... Having us all on the same level might help a few new people feel more part of the community, and new members are a good thing! (Bear in mind this is just my opinion, I've no idea if it would actually make a difference)
To be honest; shush, this isn't an equal society anymore, you dirty commie. :=P:

Well we've got the Karma system (called Cheers and Jeers for us) running the way it's supposed to, I think, and so that was a major hurdle to get over that is now past! I'm hoping and hoping for the boards to be back up in under two weeks. :D

I know, what the heck? I got another email saying "Hey let us know if everything is fine because we're going to delete everything from the server if you don't." What the BISCUIT kind of email is that?! Grrrr...

Also last night I had a dream lasting from 12pm to 5:30am about the new forums. It was miserable because things kept going wrong and now I feel like I didn't even sleep. Maybe when you start dreaming about work it's time to take a break.

Though I don't have time, so I won't.

Well you could always have your own server JKR, y'know have a server running 24/7 or something, that usually solves those annoying hosts :P

Servers are expensive.
It's better to rent them really.

What about just taking Ubuntu Server edition, and putting it on an older (or newer) computer?

Computers won't do as servers, unless you buy a really big hard drive, which is also expensive...
And Ubuntu would require a lot of work to handle, would it not?

I dunno, if I don't get a name change on the new Cubetoons then I'm deleting my account and making a new one. This name has grown on me, especially because it was made by a very close friend of mine.
