I'm planning to start a new animation series, Edmund & Darrell.
However, I'm debating with myself as to which style to use.
So here's Edmund in both styles:

Here's Regi:

And Melvin:

For the second style, I was planning to use cut out images for the backgrounds, whereas the first would use fully drawn backgrounds by me.
Tell me which is your favourite and why!

Edit: No. 1 isn't giving you the finger.

I'd have to see them with the backgrounds, but alone I like the first one.

K. I'll get them with backgrounds ASAP.

Honestly, though it might be a bit too much work, I'd like to see a quick animation test. Make 'em flap their arms around or something. Cause right now I like the style of #2, but I'm not sure how well it would animate. Just curious.

number 2 would work if it was like an animated and the backdrop was like a school white board

Hrmmm...
I could do a short animation of each, if it'll help. But in summary, #1 will have a more "pieces being moved around" approach, similar to that of Fred The Monkey or Homestar. Whereas #2 would have a more "frame by frame" feel, a bit like... Pecilmation I suppose.

In a way, #1 would be sacrificing flexibility for looks and time saving.

I've added two more characters up top - if it changes any opinions...

after seeing these
no question , do the ones on the left
much much much more stylised and better to look at

what u could do tho.. is try adding the outlines from like number 2, onto number 1. and see how it looks

The first ones. Awesome style, and one I'd love to try out myself sometimes. Nice work. Happy
