It was weird watching the first preseason game and flipping back and forth between baseball. I know it's crazy, but football almost felt... slow? I dunno, it was really odd. I was like "A penalty? Screw that! You're slowing down the game, just let them play!"

Of course it didn't help that the Steelers AND Pirates lost that evening. Sigh.

Next week we're playing some team called the Eagles. I never heard of them.

It's preseason bro, don't be concerned about losses.

The Detroit Lions went undefeated in 2008 in the preseason. :P

And I heard the Eagles are pretty good. Some are calling them the Dream Team. Specifically ESPN trying to create Miami Heat-esque hype.

And in a bit of Eagles related news, they signed 2009 Pro Bowler Steve Smith the other day, and ever since then, a bunch of angry Giants fans have been posting on his Facebook wall.

A small sampling.
Quote :
you suck loser

...

suck it steve

...

Its nice that I bought my girlfriend your jersey for christmas. She hasn't even wore it yet. So i guess I will tey to sell it on ebay and get some of my money back. Cause at the end of the day its all about the money right Steve?? Dirtbag. Hope you blow out your other knee!!

...

Anyone who got a signed jersey should send it back to him charred

...

Nice move, Lebron!

...

I hate how everyone is still saying your a class act. The fact is that you are a greedy, selfish, traitor. You only care about money, obviously. I just do not get ho you can talk smack on the eagles, post the empty trophy case pictures, and then go sign with the eagirls. I hope you make a fast recovry just so terrell thomas can rebreak your leg in week 3. My favorite giant to the biggest bitch in th NFL. Oh yea...Belgium YOUUUUU

...

douche move man

...

typical money hungry move you have completely embarrassed yourself you a none to new york now time to lay you out in a game u spiteful prick

...

i really hope u read all of these. grab me one of andy reid's cupcakes

...

Everyone has to realize that this is about Steve stabbing us in the back. If it was just about $$ he could have gone anywhere, but he chose the Filthedelipha PIGS!! I have no problem with what Boss did he got a hell of a lot of$$$ But Smith is a back stabbing prick who told us on Facebook how much he hates the Eagles and “I always want to be a Giant” then put it up our ass. Steve I hope Roll takes you out and ends your career!!

...

You choose the rival your worse then tiki good luck but your knee will break again an your career will be over giants wanted to baby you Philly will watch you break like a bitch surprisingly that you are....burning your Jersey now Belgium douche

...

you are the biggest pussy ever steve...say your loyal to the gaints and then sign to the eagles....and dont blame the giants...they offered you a good extension last year but you didnt want to take it....all good..karma will come back and break your other leg bitch....G-MEN FOR LIFE !!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's funny, last year when the Giants signed one of our Pro Bowl tackles, we did none of this.

Yep. That is it. Those passionate New Yorkers.

I would've posted the link to his wall, but it will make you guys lose faith in New York fans.

So what do you guys think of how your team did in the first preseason game? The Eagles had an aggressive style I haven't seen in years, and it was great.

I didn't watch it! But the Hawks won.

And Russel Okung is ALREADY injured. Wa. Hoo.

Plus we used Charlie Whitehurst the entire time, which ruined it for me. I mean, we signed Matt Leinhert and Tarvais Jackson. USE THEM.

Matt Leinart you mean? He signed with the Texans. :P

There was only speculation that he would sign with Seattle because of his college coach being your head coach there.

I've heard good things about your other backup QB though, Josh Portis. He went 5 for 6 for 69 yards and 1 TD. Not bad for a rookie.

Wait, wait. I seriously was reading Josh Portis as Matt Leinart in the newspaper.

Maybe I'm a wizard?

/obligatory meme

Anyway, you were just probably reading a story about the speculation.

Matt Leinart is busy being the happy backup for Matt Schaub in Tejas.

Wikipedia says so.

It's also weird now because I've been watching baseball every single day and now that I have to wait a week between games again with football I'm like "What is this crap? Play now, I don't want to wait a week!" :P

That feeling will be worse once the games become good. :P

And it will become even worse once the MLB season ends.

I enjoy the MLB season much more.

Generally because you don't spend all the time between games arguing over which team is better, weaknesses of such and such, strengths of such and such, you jsut watch them play. Football involves too much fan raging simply because they have time to do it.

Don't forget that NFL is the most popular sport in this country, so that naturally leads to more raging.

Tonight's football game was better. Also this new rule where they kick off from like the 50 yard line is STUPID and SUCKS.

The 35 you mean? I don't think it is as bad as people are making it out to be.

And I like how the Bears completely ignored that new rule in their first preseason game. :P

Ehhhhhh.

Highlight of the game, was Vick destroying Polamalu.

Can only happen in the preseason.

What a stupid, stupid move by both players. So dumb, they're both the MVP of both teams, and to jeopardize the whole season like that... Sigh...

Yeah, Vick was frustrated since that was the third pick of the night, even though Polamalu should've gone down earlier. (Not by being tackled, but just trying not to get hurt)

Needless to say I was disappointed in that game, but I have to continually remind myself that this is a preseason game.

I mean, why else would the Redskins be doing so good right now?

EDIT: I found an even dumber play.

Really?
