Papy's correct in that I was on vacation, but besides that I post here far more than AZ. It's nice, but I don't really think they like me, even though I barely post. Nervous

Didn't Your Conscience recommend Jazza Studios AGES ago?

In fact I'm certain he did.

Checked the JAZZA forum, didn't care for it. And can't we find a devious way to invite people here?

Just because we've called you all of those things, doesn't mean you can call us those.

First, it's JKR's fault there's no new updates. If he wanted Fred the Monkey to keep going, he'd put more effort into it. I know, personal problems can get in the way of that, but really, there's so much more he could have done. We already use the art board for those kinda fan things, no-one's interested in doing that, because no-one wants to do JKR's work for him. Trust me, I kinda know.

I do enjoy when someone comes along and knows so much about my life and what I do and don't do based on what they see on the internet that they can make claims like "there's so much more he could have done" and such. It's especially interesting when such a comment comes from someone who had to drop out of an EXTREMELY part-time volunteer job because he became too busy.

At any rate, the forums live or die because of members. I am included in that, however I can only do so much in keeping them running. Especially considering that I'm not interested in spending all day trying to maintain them. One day when I make a new forum, it will be small and easy to maintain. The goal will NOT be to get new members, or to make some vast, internet-storming cult, but to have a quaint little place to chat with people who get along. The goal of the old forums was to make some vast, internet-storming cult. Why I let people convince me to do that, I'll never know. Probably lust for power and influence. No more.

Anywho, going forward any forum I make will make it a point to welcome new people, but absolutely not go looking for new members. I much prefer small, close knit forums to the bloated thing we used to have.

Yea, even when CT was at its peak it wasn't bloated. At all. In fact it was still somewhat small compared to most successful forums.

I'm all for moving somewhere else, but I has no ideas. Just let me know where to make an account.

It had like 72 boards for 5 active members. It was bloated as sin.

That's the DEFINITION of bloated, even... What forum were YOU guys on?

You said you wanted a small community, because the old one was too bloated. Not that the forum ITSELF was bloated.

Actually, as I recall it had a total of about 10-11 boards. Only about 4 or 5 were actually active.
The deadweight was the Sony gaming board (revived briefly by Paperboy) the writing board, collaboration board, kingdom blue, CT and Fred were barely active.

People only ever used the general board, forum fun, nintendo or general gaming, and the art board. And even still the art board wasn't always in use.
It was hardly bloated though.

CT was not bloated in the slightest. We had like 10 boards, and about half that was active. We had really about 10-15 active members, more when we were at our peak.

Yeah, you guys are nuts. If you don't use half the boards you have, how that isn't bloated is beyond me.

Guess we have different definitions. Whatever, the point is, we really only needed like 2 boards. Probably only one. It was pointlessly large and unnecessary to have so many.

One or two boards? Seriously?
Like, SERIOUSLY?
At least add SOME friggin' division. Gaming board, Forum-Games board, Art board, FtM/KB Board, General board.

Nah, no reason to split things up when there aren't a lot of people around. One board means one community. For example, I never touch the Cowbell board here, so I'm missing whatever would be going on. If it were all on one board, I wouldn't miss it. Plus then maybe it wouldn't be weeks in between posting on certain boards. When days/weeks go by without a post, it means there's no point to that board... Also one board means a lot less spam, because there are actual things to talk about. You don't need a dozen "I am bored" threads because there are active threads all over the one board.

A good example is the Negative World board. It's a breath of fresh air coming from the IGN boards, which are just awful at this point. Check them out. Negative world. (Of course, their focus is video games, which an FtM board probably wouldn't be. There are enough gaming boards online, including this one.)

As Eat Box and I have said before, Awkward Zombie looks like a good example the compact forum you're looking for. There's a board for the actual site, one for Videogames, and one for General things, with a stickied Art thread in there.

Yeah, see that is a sense-making forum there. Nice and compact, and of good community setting.
