I still question why one would NEED that much space on their computer. Either A: File sizes while have the explode in size (think holograms) to require a need for anywhere near that much space, or B: Your average computer will hole more information than its user while ever be reasonably able to use. Which sounds like a huge waste. really...
A. They have been rapidly expanding. How much memory did your hard drive have ten years ago? B. It already doesn't?
A. Well, yes, but then again, hard drives from that time were already fairly deficient. I mean, look at the file sizes we have now. Music prolly won't need to increase too much more over the years, aside from perhaps increasing the quality, which would maybe double things at most I would think. Video I could see also increasing for the same reason. But really, the only thing that might increase to such an amount would probably be increasingly complex videogames but even with all that, I just don't see how any one person, or even any one family, would need that much hard drive space. I mean, what are we, the SEC?
Also, B: The average person could easily get through your average hard drive if they wanted to, but when we're talking about the Library of Congress 100,000 times over, I'm sensing a level of extravagance that your average person simply wouldn't need...

A. You're probably right about audio. But video is going to increase a lot. The highest resolution a consumer PC monitor is at 2500x1600. Have you ever tried recording video at that resolution? I have a recorded video from TF2 at just 1920x1080 which is 29 seconds long, and it is 811 MB. Not to mention that 1920x1080 is only 2 megapixels and considering that the human eye can see ****ING 83, we have a long way to go on video.
B. Well know it's completely unnecessary of course, but in the future files are going to need a exabyte hard drive. Just the way CPUs went from Mhz to Ghz.
C. By the time one comes out, it'll be on a SSD. :D

I see what you did there...
I also have an exam on wednesday thats gonna make us miss at least 15 mins of the (potentially) last England match... To make it worse its a scam of an exam that Unis don't accept and the college just does it to make money... I'm going to end up writing down my formation and players I'd pick, then start ranting about how this exam is a sham and it's making me miss Englands most important group game in forever... Then I'll apologise to the marker for wasting his time but shall note he's getting paid anyway so you know...

I also have an exam on tuesday thats gonna make us miss at least 17 mins of the (potentially) last Mexico match... To make it worse its a scam of an exam that Burger King don't accept and the McDonalds just does it to make money... I'm going to end up writing down my beach towels and men I'd pick, then start ranting about how this exam is amazing and it's making me miss Mexicos most important group game in forever... Then I'll yell at the marker for wasting my time but shall note he's getting killed anyway so you know...

I actually wrote that as a response to Papy, and then you posted before I did... I thought it was probably still relevant. Somehow.
