From the past year or two, the forum has been dieing. I believe we can all agree to that, correct?
We just haven't figured out why, or if someone has, they haven't posted anything explaining this situation. Here's a few things I've come up with.
-JKR not updating often enough [1] -Not enough conversations to KEEP members around [2] -Not advertising the forums on the main website [3] -Stickman. [4]
[1] There isn't much we can really do about this, but I do actually have an idea. Maybe we could have like... A "Fans Section" where people can create and submit their creations about FtM. They could submit fan art, flash animations, or just submit their opinions on the website. It would be cool, but it's just a suggestion. I also read in the blog HERE that JKR would be putting different sections for cartoons, which is kinda nice. Alright, moving on...
[2] We just typically talk about the same things over and over and OVER again. Usually someone posts something in the Day chat, and we have a few comments, or a few members talk about video games, but nothing like what it was a few years ago. What we need is to basically post more conversations, without spamming the hell out of the board. This isn't a major issue, but I notice by just looking here from time to time.
[3] The only way people get to this forum is from the PREVIOUS forum which is only shown by a button. We need some sort of... Promotion? I don't have any suggestions, but as a forum, we could think of something!
[4] You're an annoying troll and you shouldn't be here anymore. You scare off most of ANY new members we have, and you just spam. At the time of this post, you have 1364 posts. I'm willing to bet 1350 of those posts are spam, while the other 14 are reasons you think we shouldn't ban you. During those 14 posts, the real Stickman, the one we all used to love, is there. You're not funny, and you're wasting your time, as well as ours. The only reason we reply to you reverts back to [2]. You spam to try and start a conversation, though you have yet to realize that won't work. It may seem like we are trying to interact with you, but we're telling you to stop. It's two separate things, and you have to understand that. In all honesty, if we just ban you, this forum will be better.
Okay, now I doubt ANYBODY read all of that, and I don't blame you. If you did, thank you, I guess. Though, this topic may just be a bunch of gibberish, there are a few ideas in there. It kinda got off topic in a few places, but eh. If you guys have any ideas that should be added on here, for whatever reason, or you have a comment about this, go ahead and post a message down below.

Nobody cares anymore. Not about this forum, but threads like these. And if the forum gets more members, cool. And if not, whatever.

First, it's JKR's fault there's no new updates. If he wanted Fred the Monkey to keep going, he'd put more effort into it. I know, personal problems can get in the way of that, but really, there's so much more he could have done. We already use the art board for those kinda fan things, no-one's interested in doing that, because no-one wants to do JKR's work for him. Trust me, I kinda know.
Second, the reason there's not enough conversations was due to the leaving of a lot of great members, and a lack of new ones coming in. Seriously, since the Christmas before last, the member sign up basically slowed to a stop, with two maybe three members joining a month, and only one or two of them actually sticking around for the year. I'd chalk this up to no updates, and stricter forum rules, making people leave, ie. Meev.
Third, you can't advertise a forum, there's no point to it. Again, chalk this up to reason one.
Fourth, Stickman is a troll. Annoying? Not entirely. He does tend to scare off the new people, but I doubt most of them would stay around anyway. If Stickman feels frustrated by his life, and wishes to take this out on a forum where no one cares, that's his business.

Stop taking this stupid little forum so god damn seriously. It was the main fault of the original forum, and its the main fault of this forum, not me. Also, the fact that nobody posts about anything other than Graphics Cards.

If we all talk about Graphics Cards and take this forum too seriously, why do you bother posting so much here?

Because I find it funny watching you all overreact. If you'd actually have conversations that weren't always either.
A) About how much this forum sucks. B) About how great the Nvidia Geo V246564234342315234624362346234234CU.NT is. C) How much I suck.
Then maybe things would be better, like when E3 was on, actual conversations occurred, look how I acted then.

But thats the thing, it's hard to have 'conversations' when every other post is random nonsense. Sorry if I sound dickish Stick, I'm not one for wanting your head on a stick.
Ahhhhhhhh dick this crap, I'm sick of talking about this frigging forum, we've been doing it on repeat for 2 years and at the end of the day with no FtM this place is going to one day vanish, and it's never going to be as good as it was. The end.

The community is already dead. This forum is just the life support that keeps it alive, keeping one or two people happy to see it going, but for the most part, it's sad and it should basically be put down.

Can we just please stop talking about this forum? Everyone just groans when somebody does, so we might as well stop.
And we're going to continue to groan since, as EVERYONE has said, it's just a fact of life. It's going to die.
Why did I even write that whole thing when I could have just said, "Shut er' down." It would have made things a while lot simpler. >_>
Why do you think that we groan? Hmm? It's because we want to avoid that but we can't. And no one wants to talk about it, which is why we try not to.

I kinda agree with most of your points.
In all honesty, I don't really care about FtM anymore. The only reason I still come here is 'cause I like talking with you guys (except... you can guess), even if the conversations are kinda lacking these days. My solution is to migrate. Find a smallish to medium sized forum based on something we all/most like, and move there.
I've never been too attached to these forums (even when I first joined,) so whether we stay, move or die, it doesn't really make a difference to me.

Whilst this is a good idea, I have two problems with it.
First off, I want a place to talk about FtM when it updates. ._. Second, we would have to find the DAMN PERFECT forum. One who's population is similar to ours.

Migrating to a new land...
I think EB already dragged FG to the AZ forums (Abbreviations FTW).
I've kinda been meaning to sign up to somewhere to talk about videogames (only the best ones are even thread worthy here) but I can't find anything small enough - most big forums you trawl through pages of posts only to realise there are only about 2 instances of people actually acknowledging other peoples points (usually to correct grammar... which isn't too dissimilar from here )

I suggest, we find an active forum. and all go there.
something we would all like though.

FG was on vacation for the past week or two.
And I'd think the Awkward Zombie forums are not the best choice for a couple of reasons.
1. Awkward Zombie will go back to not weekly updates in the fall. 2. Too large (for me at least) 3. AZ's popularity peaked a couple years ago, so we would be near the end technically. 4. My sister visits there.

I browse through the MSPA forums occasionally, but it seems too big for me.
Although sometimes I see posts by Descriptor, and that makes me smile

This has slight potential. It's based off the animations of JAZZA, who made a bunch of cool stuff on Newgrounds. I haven't done a huge amount of research into the forums, but they seem quite small.

It's just nice to see a familiar face in a bigger forum. And by familiar face, I mean that dude in your avatar
